Bamboo Flooring Moldings

If you've already picked out a new floor for your home or business, you may be considering the next step: floor moldings. Floor moldings are a beautiful way to put the finishing touches on your latest home improvement project. They are available with all kinds of profiles and sizes, including t-molding, stair nosing, quarter round, threshold, reducer, baseboard, wall base, skirting board.

molding reducer

Reducer

Bamboo reducers help transition down to floor level

The reducer should be the same thicknss as your floor with a groove on the back of it. It provides a transition from equal height of your floor down to the sub floor height or very thin flooring (i.e. concrete, tile, or linoleum). Equally important in preserving the finished look of a room and the safety of anyone in it, bamboo reducers are an essential part of any renovation where transitioning between surfaces is a concern. Reducers may also be used against solid objects such as sliding doors or other areas where common quarter round would not look proper.

molding threshold

Thresholds

Thresholds are used to transition between two floors with greater than 1/8" height difference

This molding is used as a transition at the end of the bamboo floor, typically at front, side, and sliding glass doors. However, threshold is a versatile trim piece that can be customized with the use of a table saw for flooring changes of all heights where a reducer may not work.

molding tmolding

T-Molding

T molds are used to transition between floors of equal height or within 1/8" in height

Bamboo T molding is most often used to transition from one flooring surface to another flooring surface of the same height, although they can also be used to transition between two floors if the floors are within 1/8" in height. This molding is usually glued down to either one floor or both and is used to cover the expansion gap between the floors.

molding quarter round

Shoe Molding and Quarter Round

Commonly used interchangeably, these are actually two different things

Shoe molding is typically ¾” by 1/2” (one dimension is longer than the other) where as quarter round is typically ½” by ½” (Having the same height and width). Both moldings provide coverage of the recommended expansion gap at the bottom of the base board and create a more refined look to your bamboo floor. due to the thinness of this product, it is best to pre drill holes if you are nailing this molding.

molding stairtread

Stair Treads

Solid bamboo stair streads for a beautiful staircase

Are an alternative to using flooring planks and stair noses as the platform for your stairs. Treads usually come rounded on three sides for an open stair case or nosed on the front and flat on the sides for a closed stair case. Rounded sides can be modified to fit a closed stair case.

molding stairriser

Stair Riser

Stair Risers Are the Vertical Pieces on a Staircase

Stair risers are the vertical pieces of the stair case that rise up between the stair treads. They are used in conjunction with stair treads to take your flooring up, or down, another level. Choose from a variety of colors and grains to find the perfect match for your budget and decor. Built to stand up to anything a busy family can throw at them, bamboo risers will give you a lifetime of trouble-free use.

molding baseboard

Base Board

Bamboo wall base pairs with quarter round for a finished look

Using a base board is a great way to add a professional finish to any room. It is used to cover the lowest part of an interior wall and act as a beautiful transition between the floor and the wall. Base board also is used as protection for your wall and covers any uneven cuts along the wall.
